I have been wanting to start a new project, something unique. When I started looking at patterns, I remembered Frank O'Randle, a crochet designer with some seriously amazing patterns.
I looked at the options available on his Ravelry page and decided to go with the Mini Rings of Change pattern. I had purchased a couple skeins of Lion Brand Ice Cream yarn in the Blue Moon blend of blue and white hues with my daughter in mind last week. So I decided to use it for the project and call it hers.
Here is what I've gotten accomplished so far. I love this pattern, it's the mini version of the larger Rings of Change paid pattern. And I totally purchased the full pattern so I could go beyond the scope of the miniature version.
On the life side of things...
My son had ear tube surgery this two Mondays ago and has become a completely different kid ever since. He's happier and more playful and it really makes me feel bad for how long we let him be miserable. Of course, we thought he was just a baby-jerk all this time. We never realized the extent of his misery or the effect it was having on his personality.
My daughter turns 6 in less than two weeks. And it is insane how quickly time passes. She was just born, like yesterday... Right?!? She's looking forward to her party at a local bowling alley with her friends. Then of course there is the prospect of presents from her family at the family gathering here at the house the following day.
As for me, I've decided to join a Biggest Loser style weight loss challenge on Facebook to reignite my own weight loss journey for the month of March and I'm kinda super excited about that. I have not been doing well for myself since the beginning of the year. I've made a lot of really poor eating and lifestyle choices and am paying the price with a few extra pounds.
On top of that, I am going to be doing a bit more than the required fasting during this season of Lent. I will also be fasting from unnecessary spending and using the money I would have spent frivolously to make a donation to a local charity at the end of Lent.
My hubby has been working hard and was even out of town for 3 days earlier this week. It is always a tough time for those of us left behind when he's out of town. But this round went surprisingly well.
I am very much looking forward to getting back into the swing of writing and blogging again. It's been a very long time. But it's also long overdue!

Welcome
Well hello there! Welcome, welcome.
Come in, sit a bit. Let's have a cup of coffee and get to know one another!
I am Angela, formerly known on the blogosphere as Gi-Gi Roxx. I was (once upon a time) an over the road trucker with a foul mouth and a LOT to say.
Not quite who I am today, but not too awfully different.
But boy, how I have missed the keys beneath my fingers.
I've been contemplating writing again for quite some time. But I kept making excuses.
And since Monday always seems like a good day to do something new. Diets. Joining the gym. Giving up booze.
Why not start a blog on a Monday...
And here we are.
I am a stay-at-home-mom and side hustler in a multilevel marketing business and occasional crochet commissioner. I am Catholic. I teach Sunday School. I participate in two Bible study groups each week. I watch a little bit of Netflix and a whole lot of kids shows.
I am always up for whatever Christian concert is coming to town. I am also always up for muffins at Panera, pasta at Olive Garden, or a trip to Target.
My favorite color is orange but if I see something I want in orange or rose pink, I'll always pick rose pink.
I have some of the best friends and family a girl could ask for.
And I desperately want a Ford Flex when I buy a new car one of these days.
That said, let's get to the meat and taters of what this blog will look like. I have a wide variety of thoughts and ideas and opinions, but I imagine that the vast majority of my posts will be about something from the following list.

A little bit about me...
I am from West "By God" Virginia and I've been married to my husband for almost 8 years.
